They say that you are either a Mac user or a PC user and that it is difficult to convert from one to the other. This may or may not be true for everyone. It all depends on what you want from a laptop and what you use it for.

I have found, after owning both a MacBook (after years of being a PC user) and regular laptops, that I am deep at heart, a PC junkie. Never mind that the PC requires an antivirus, updating software all the time and realizing that eventually it will slow down, for reasons that the layperson does not easily understand. However, I am back to using an HP Pavilion DV2 Laptop and I could not be happier.

Going back to an HP after owning a MacBook, was, for me, like coming home again, after a vacation in which I never fully got the feel of where I was. I am not saying Macs are not a wonderful intuitive tool, but since I use it mainly for word processing, net surfing, and well, yes, sometimes for picture editing, I feel the PC laptop fits me like a glove.

For one, the keyboard is so much more ergonomic and my typing speed has increased again, which cuts my work day by at least an hour! There are so many screen sizes to choose from, and then you can eliminate all unnecessary clutter, program-wise, to make your machine run faster than if it is loaded with programs you never use.

You may want to wait until October 22nd, when Windows 7 is out, or you can also make a purchase now, possibly getting a great deal on a super computer, and then install Windows 7 later on. Or, wait until the next version of the new operating system is out. In any case, if you are a PC user, HP Pavilion is an option to consider.
